Just today I had a “friend” tell me to drop a dream I have in pursing a nursing degree because I have “too much” going on in my life right now and maybe I should just forget about it – even though I have shared with her my success in the prerequisite classes I had to take while still having “too much” going on. It’s very disappointing because for a moment – I actually thought about it

    1. Itzel,
Hello! Don’t let anybody steal your dream. Have you read that book, the Dream Giver by Bruce Wilkinson? Check it out, it really helps me stay focused on my dreams and reject the negative notions from others. Don’t be disappointed that you considered her words for just one moment–celebrate that the moment passed quickly. Continue having a POWERFUL week! Allegra

    Allegra,
Internet marketing has opened a whole new world to me. I believe this to be a gift even though there is so much for me to learn. Many people around me have low expectations of me going anywhere with my online business. I plan to prove them otherwise! Thanks for the great article. As soon as I learn to share the link love I will!

    1. Amy,
I appreciate your visit and comment! Good for you for being ready to ignore other people’s limitations and reach YOUR goals! I can’t wait to see you shine! There is a lot to learn on line so take your time and focus on what you need to learn first, the other stuff will come. Have a POWERFUL week! Allegra

  5. Hi Allegra,

Great post. It’s important to stay away from dream stealers, people who don’t support your business opportunity, full of negativity. They will simply drag you down to join them. Misery loves company!

    Thanks for the inspiration.

    All the best,
    Mavis

    1. Hello Mavis,
Thank you! Sometimes it’s hard to identify the dream stealers, isn’t it? Because they talk about their ‘theft’ in terms of wanting to protect us or being realistic and helpful. They don’t know they are thieves. That’s why we have to be careful who we spend time with. I look forward to your blog posts. Take care, Allegra

    Hi Allegra,

A great illustration of mindset in action. If you’re determined and dedicated and believe in yourself then you can prevail over any odds, despite what others may think.

Thanks for sharing this inspiring story!

    1. Hi Jim,
You are welcome! I am glad that my blog visitors allow me to apply lessons from my favorite sport! I often see links and lessons from completely unrelated things; it’s a gift, I don’t own it! I hope you have a POWERFUL week! Allegra

    Hi Allegra,

even though I am not a football fan, it’s obvious that everybody who reaches a certain level deserves the opportunity. Talking about not deserving something is a very weird attitude.

    Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

    Take care

    Oliver

    1. HI Oliver,

I agree telling someone they don’t ‘deserve’ something comes from a weird attitude. You are sparking an idea for a new blog post! Thanks for that and for stopping by.

      Be well, Allegra

Great article, it is so important to believe in yourself. Sometimes I slip up, but believing myself and trusting God is something my mother taught me. Thank you for reminding me.

    1. Hi Melva,
You are very welcome! I’m glad you enjoyed the post. Have a powerful week! Allegra

  9. First, I am just utterly over the moon to meet a fellow Football goddess!!

I too, was routing for the Seahawks and saw the lesson in Attitude and Belief that was demonstrated when they won.

And even though they didn’t go much further, the energy and boost from that win is almost guaranteed to carry into a much more successful season next year.
(if there IS a 2011 season, that is!)

Believe in yourself and everything is possible.
    Great post. Great Lesson.

    Thrilled to meet you, Allegra.
    Bliss-ings,
    the goddess known as Jacqui

    1. Allegra Sinclair says:

      Hi Jacqui –
It’s delightful to meet you! This was such a tough season for me! Can you say Eagles? There better be a season next year to get this taste out of my mouth. I always root for the underdog and this season gave me plenty of opportunities to do that. Everything IS possible, isn’t it? Be powerful! Allegra

  10. Great point, Allegra. Many sports teams will actually use their perceived “underdog” status as motivation to perform better and ultimately succeed. Everyone receives the same negative stimuli, but how one handles it defines one’s ultimate success.

    1. Allegra Sinclair says:

      Hi Kyle,
Great point! Teams seems to perform better when they have an ‘us against the world’ mentality. Whatever works, right? Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week, Allegra
