You know super motivated women when you see them. They seem fearless in the face of any challenge and have more energy than that famous little drummer boy… but what exactly are the character traits that help them stay that way?

9 Traits of Super Motivated Women

1.

Motivated Women Have a Purpose. Super motivated women are good at keeping their dreams in focus while keeping their eyes on the big picture of their situation. They see how their work fits into the larger whole. This makes sure they don’t start feeling like the smaller steps of the journey are meaningless.

2.

Motivated Women are Brave. Motivated women love taking on new challenges and they never back down from calculated risks. They’re not afraid to take chances, make mistakes, and get a little messy—just like your favorite meat loaf recipe, sometimes the messiest things can be the most delicious.

3.

Motivated Women Take Time to Reflect. There's an old saying, 'When you lose, don’t lose the lesson', and motivated women understand that. Because they recover quickly so they can keep moving, that doesn't mean they should forget the lessons they've learned. Motivated women reflect on their results and move forward with that knowledge and insight.

4.

Motivated Women Take Time to Celebrate. Motivated women know how important it is to stop and celebrate successes before moving on to the next project. It’s not about throwing it in other people’s faces, but about appreciating the hard work they've just done, and acknowledging their accomplishments. Skipping this step makes it hard to get motivated for the next project.

5.

Motivated Women Maintain Perspective. Super motivated women don’t  allow themselves to get distracted by the small stuff. They know how to sort through life’s myriad concerns and ignore the little things that could pull them off course. The ability to compartmentalize and stay on task is a critical skill for life success.

6.

Motivated Women are Humble. Motivated women are aware of their strengths and weaknesses. An arrogant woman will run into a wall again and again, learning nothing and wearing herself out. On the other hand, a humble woman will work her plan, take feedback, and adjust course as necessary. They’re not offended—their eyes are on the prize, and they’ll accept the help they need to get there.

7.

Motivated Women are Persistent. Women with high levels of motivation don’t give up when things don't go as planned and get difficult. They remember WHY they are working so hard, then they buckle down and get it done. It doesn't have to be pretty, it just has to be done.

8.

Motivated Women are Optimistic. Optimism is a powerful choice that's built on your vision of what will exist in the future. Super motivated women gain energy from this vision and use it as fuel to do the work necessary to bring the vision to life.

9.

Motivated Women Have High Self-Esteem. It’s hard to do anything when you don’t feel like you can do it. But motivated women know their strengths and they believe in themselves. They are also confident that they can improve their skills in any area they choose.

These are 9 traits of super motivated women that all successful women need. Do you see yourself in these descriptions? If not, pick one to work on first, and start making small changes.

One word of caution: don’t try to change everything all at once, start with one thing. Write down the changes you want to see and hold yourself accountable for making progress in that area. (Get help from a friend or coach if you need more accountability.) Once you’ve mastered the first trait, move to the next. Just don’t give up!
